Transition period
At the end of your mission, it is strongly advised to allow yourself recovery time before resuming any professional activity. It is preferable not to immediately take on a new job.
A routine medical check-up is not necessary if you are in good health and have no specific medical needs. However, if you experience persistent symptoms, or if you were frequently ill during your mission, it is advisable to consult your general practitioner. They can, if necessary, refer you to a specialist, prescribe further tests, or ensure appropriate medical follow-up.
If you return with a health issue
If you leave your mission with a health condition requiring follow-up, this must be formally declared and in all cases, the Staff Health Unit (SHU) must be informed promptly to ensure appropriate support and if necessary notify the administration, particularly in connection with contractual obligations.
FAQ
1. How long is my insurance cover after the end of my mission?
If you are insured by MSH International, contact them to benefit from health coverage under the insurance company for additional three months from the end of your mission (applicable only in home residence).
However, once your contract has ended and you decide not to return back to home the medical insurance and the coverage of the assistance company will no longer be valid, so it is therefore highly recommended to purchase private insurance to cover potentially high costs of an emergency medical evacuation..
